Hub for JR and Tobu trains

Since Funabashi Station connects JR and Tobu train lines, commuters and travelers can take a breather here between the two ticket gates. The station isn't huge but can get very busy as it's a major hub for people commuting between Chiba and Tokyo. The concourse often has market stalls with local and imported goods and produce. You can stretch your legs and graze here or pick up omiyage. Outside the station are some shopping arcades with old storefronts, izakayas, and shokudos. Nearby is the largest Daiso hundred-yen shop, Giga Funabashi. If you've got time, walk over to ancient Oohi Shrine to see the unique wooden lighthouse and elaborate Tokiwa Shrine to Prince Yamato Takeru.
