Gone, so walk south five minutes
I was so sad to see that the location for this old-school ramen shop is now a parking lot...It was a great spot to have a chat with the elderly proprietors and have a hearty bowl of ramen. To get your ramen fix, walk about five minutes south along Nagareyama Kaido and you'll arrive at Ramen Izakaya Boyoshi. It's got mixed reviews on Google Maps, but mostly good.

Refreshing chicken broth ramen
Terakoya is a little mom-and-pop ramen restaurant a short walk from the entrance to Shimizu Park. I had the pirikara ramen, slightly spicy. The ramen broth here is made with chicken, so it has a lighter texture and it is clear, much like soy sauce ramen. The bowl was topped with shredded negi onion, menma bamboo shoots, and a huge round of chashu pork. The bowl came with a side of minced garlic. The folks that run it are attentive to detail, and testament to omotenashi culture. The ojisan asked me when I’d like my beer, before, during or after my ramen. The kitchen, I noticed was spotless.
