Tranquil garden with water and greenery
Directly behind Shinshoji temple’s main hall is a vast and lush green garden park. On a hot summer day, the shade of the trees, moss, and stone monuments provide relief. There are two large ponds stocked with koi and inhabited by ducks. In the spring, it’s a great plum and cherry blossom viewing location, and in autumn, a spectacular place for colored leaves. Besides the elegant garden, spot tea houses, the calligraphy museum, and a restaurant that has a view of the large pond.
