    The other Thai place

Downstairs, Chao Bamboo can get very busy, and customers will wait in line. The food is great there. The Upstairs Kaffir Lime rarely has a lineup, and serves flavorful lunch sets, and they’re not expensive. Their curries and noodle soups don’t skimp on quantity or quality. The flavors made me nostalgic for Thai vacations. The staff are friendly and multilingual.

    Authentic Thai flavors in Harajuku

On shopping trips to Harajuku, I either go to Ciao Bamboo (the downstairs Thai noodle shop) or Kaffir Lime, this shop just up the stairs. Both have delicious Thai food, but Kaffir Lime's menu is more about curry and rice dishes. The green curry is quite fiery but full of flavor. A side of sticky rice, prepared in a bamboo container, finishes the meal beautifully. They serve great deserts, too, if you still have room. The staff are nice, and the tables are wide, so there is plenty of seating. I've gone with big groups, and other times solo. It's not common in Tokyo to share a table with other solo diners, but sometimes you do at Kaffir Lime.

    Kaffir Lime Thai Restaurant

It is located in the second floor of the building and although the place is small, the ambiance was very cozy when I ate there. Staffs were very friendly and quick. Food was good and with generous portions. They only serve lunch until 3 pm. Prices are 1000 yen at average. Pretty much the same as any other Thai restaurants around Tokyo.
