-11 convenience store's own line of ramen comes out with seasonal and regional dishes. Earlier in September, I told you about Dashi Kaoru Shio Ramen, a dashi broth salt ramen. Well, 7-11 has done one better for just another 50 yen. Just like the Dashi Kaoru Shio Ramen the broth for this Shio Ramen Wantanmen is full of flavors with chicken, pork, and seafood broth. You get two silky wontons, a slice of chashu pork, some slices of menma, and some greens. It looks great and tastes great. I served mine in a favorite ramen bow.

I found the earlier, slightly cheaper version of the dashi ramen a bit skimpy on toppings. For under 500 yen, it's not bad. But this is even more hearty for just another 50 yen. The ramen comes in a styrofoam dish with a plastic tray to keep the noodles and toppings away from the broth until you heat and eat. Just like the previous shio ramen, this dish has a label that urges you to ask 7-11 staff to heat it for you. It takes about a minute. This is enough to satisfy a light appetite. If you're worried about calories, transfer it to a ramen bowl as a lot of the fat stays behind in the styro bowl.
