The description

This product is a new "Basque Cheesecake" flavor of Pino ice creams. It was priced at 198 yen including tax, and I purchased it from my local 7-11 store.

The good

My personal favorite thing about Pino is that the ice cream is in individual bite size pieces, so it's completely possible (although extremely difficult!) to stop at just a bite or two and then pop the rest in the freezer. It's also convenient if you want to share it with someone else! Secondly, this flavor is just divine. It tastes like a rich, slightly caramel-flavored cheesecake, and the dairy used for it is apparently from Hokkaido -- maybe that accounts for the beautiful, creamy richness. If you enjoy cheesecake I highly recommend giving this variety a try... it's probably my favorite of the seasonal Pino flavors I've tried.

The not so good

I don't have a lot of negatives to say about this product because I thoroughly enjoyed it and would 110% buy it again. One of the negatives though is that it's only set to be a limited-time flavor. I find that some of the limited-time offerings on shelves are gone within a month or two, never to be seen again. Of course, that's no big deal with flavors you don't care all that much for, but some seasonal flavors are better than the staple flavors! I would love to see this added to the permanent Pino repertoire, but I don't know that I'll be that lucky. If you like Pino, and like cheesecake-flavored things, definitely have a look at your local convenience store to see if they've got it in stock. A solid five stars from me!
