All that glitters is gold

I wrote a recent blog here on City-Cost about what I think is a must-do activity here in Niigata: visiting the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. If you're a local, it's nice to space a few exhibit visits each week over the course of the multiple-month event, and one that we visited recently was so cool!

It's called the Golden Playroom, and it's quite literally that – an old house repurposed into a venue with gold-adorned rooms, some featuring games you can actually take part in!

The entire art triennale is such a good reminder to me that art comes in so many different forms, and the event really celebrates that.

Even if you don't have a passport for the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale, you can visit this venue for 400 yen (adults) and 200 yen (children). It's closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, however, so keep that in mind if you're planning to stop by.

Even the restroom at this art exhibit is all golden!

More information about the Golden Playroom can be found on the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale website here.
