Firstly, I was so glad to get these because they have velcro adjustable straps on both the top of the foot and the ankle area, making it easier to adjust the sizing to fit your little one's foot. Secondly, they appear to be quite well constructed, and they also come in several different colorways - these are the navy variety, but they also come in a black/slate grey and a vibrant pink color. Third, they're very lightweight, which makes them perfect for Japan's hot and sweaty summers, but they still seem to provide quite a bit of foot support when they're on. They also come in half sizes! Yippee!

Something worth noting about these is that they do run small. I read reviews before ordering them and most people also agreed with this, so I went up half a size. To be honest I could have gone up a full size for my son's foot, and will probably have to get another pair half way through summer - but they're okay for now. They also run a little narrower than what I'd say the "average" kids shoe does, so just bear that in mind if your little one has wider feet. Overall, quite a good product and I will be ordering them in the next size up for my son.
