The joys of soft diplomacy

With the world often feeling very dark and grim of late, I wanted to introduce the rest of the City-Cost community to one of the little joys that brings a bit of light to each day lately: the soft diplomacy being carried out by Hiroshi Suzuki, the current Japanese ambassador to the United Kingdom.

If you have a Twitter/X account you can follow him here, but his account is just a wholesome one that really does seem to do a fabulous job of bridging Japan and the U.K. Taking Paddington out on the shinkansen, to Mount Fuji, and for jaunts to the Expo, making matcha lattes with a shamrock for St. Patrick's Day, and visiting Regent's Park to enjoy the cherry blossoms are just some of his recent posts.

Fun posts like these have become Hiroshi Suzuki's trademark, and it's winning him a lot of fans (and followers!)

I'm honestly not sure of who the Japanese ambassador to my home country (Australia) is, but I hope he or she is off doing some fun things to bridge the two countries via soft diplomacy.

Do you know much about the Japanese ambassador to your home country, if there is one?
