Hello Kitty Exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum

If you have ANY interest in Japan's kawaii culture or you're a Sanrio fan, I would highly recommend that you visit the Hello Kitty Exhibition taking place at the Tokyo National Museum until February 24th, 2025. It's the largest collection of Hello Kitty goods ever in celebration of 50 years of the beloved character, and there's so much to see!

One thing I really liked about the exhibition is that they encourage photography and there are quite a few dedicated photo areas set up. Sometimes, exhibitions will completely bar photography taking place, and I would have been disappointed if that was the case here because there's so much cute stuff to see.

It is a pricier event (adult admission is 2000 yen) but I do think it's a very, very well done exhibition and the sheer amount of stuff to check out is incredible. Also, it's a very fun-feeling exhibition rather than a stuffy one, so I think it has that going for it as well.

You can go without reserving tickets, but the official site notes that if you do that you might end up having to wait if it's particularly crowded. The official event site has a link for visitors to get a ticket ahead of time, but if you plan on going without a reservation I would suggest going earlier in the day to beat the queues.
